Eurada-European Association of Regional Development Agencies
Madrid Emprende is a member of EURADA, the European Association of Regional Development Agencies, representing the City of Madrid. The association includes both Regional Economic Development Agencies (which form the great majority of its members) and Local Agencies. This is the case of three Spanish associates: Madrid, Seville and Tenerife.
EURADA was created in 1991 to enable its members to exchange experiences, present the best practices for economic development, promote the recognition of Economic Development Agencies and reinforce and improve the organisation of technical cooperation. Its activities involve sharing information, helping, developing cooperation projects, analysing the impact of politics and promoting techniques in local and regional economic development.
EURADA aims to provide a consistent framework in which to manage projects and help draw up policies aimed at increasing SMEs' competitiveness in a knowledge economy through the exchange of experiences and transnational cooperation between its members.
At present, the European Association of Regional Development Agencies includes 150 Regional Development Agencies operating in 25 countries both in the EU and in Central and Eastern Europe. In addition, it has partnership relations with the equivalent bodies in the USA, Canada and Australia, as well as with ILO and UNIDO (UN-dependent organisations).
