The Guide aims to promote and facilitate investment in Spain by Chinese companies. It treats general economic subjects in Spain, and goes into detail on more specific subjects such as corporate, accounting and tax issues.
The current macro-economic situation is propitious for increasing Chinese investment in Spain, which is in third place in the European ranking of countries receiving Chinese investment with an increase of 45% since 2003.
For all these reasons, Deloitte has decided to create the 'Chinese Services Group,’ a team of professionals set up in the firm’s 15 offices in China, with the goal of sharing knowledge and networking.
The Mayor of Madrid, in presenting the guide, emphasized the strength of the relationship between Madrid and China, not only in purely economic or business aspects, but also in tourism, culture and institutions. The intense activity of Casa Asia, the participation of Madrid with its own pavilion in the Shanghai Expo, the opening of the Confucius Institute and the future Chinese Cultural Center in the middle of Madrid’s Salamanca neighborhood, are good examples of this.
